Hrishikesh Mukherjee (1922-2006)
Hrishikesh Mukherjee was not only a compelling and heartwarming filmmaker, he was an inspiration to the hearts of all those who whose lives he touched. As a family man, he has left us with love, courage and memories that will continue to make us laugh and smile for the rest of our lives. If you spent a few minutes with him, you would soon come to adopt his pursuit of wisdom, knowledge, humor and appreciation for the arts. Such was the passion and strong presence of Hrishikesh Mukherjee. If you spent a few years with him, you would never forget the way he would look deep into your eyes and give you a sense of comfort and elation, while making a loving joke or reciting a comedic poem. Such was the heart of Hrishikesh Mukherjee. His family hopes that people celebrate his legacy for generations to come by practicing the principles he promoted and continue on the journey to keep India warm, wholesome and caring.
